"I believe that the IITs are very popular institutions, not only in India but all over the world. Being from Bhutan, which is a neighbour of India I was aware of IITs from my the time of my high school itself. I joined IIT Kharagpur because it was closest to my home and also I concluded from my research that IIT Kharagpur has a lot of renowned professors, very strong research culture and all sorts of facilities to make the stay comfortable. So, I joined IIT Kharagpur to pursue an M.Sc in Physics in August, 2018. My Faculty adviser is professor Manoj and so far, I am enjoying my stay in IIT Kharagpur. I observe that there is a lot of geographical difference between Bhutan and India. India has a good amount of plain land, whereas Bhutan has mostly mountains, which leads to a few cultural differences in food and clothing. The level of education is really high here, the professors don't only teach you the theory but encourage you to take up lab work and share their experiences and thoughts about life in general. It feels fantastic to use sophisticated laboratory facilities. My message to prospective students is that they should seriously contemplate on attending IIT Kharagpur. Here, students get to learn almost anything that they want due to a variety of centres and schools that are present. Also, IIT Kharagpur is culturally a very rich place, there are people from a number of backgrounds and a lot of states. So, if you come to IIT Kharagpur, you can learn anything you want to!"
